Westerns, Westerns, Westerns!

are the theme of our book club this month. Choose any western that you would like to read, and participate in our online, live book discussion.

What exactly is a western? Westerns tend to take place between the Civil War and the 1900s. Generally characters either live in or travel to the American West in search of a better life, adventure, gold, love, etc. The main characters tend to live by a code, though that code will not necessarily fit the code of society.

Have you ever read a western before? Here's your chance...let us know what you think regarding this genre. The book discussion will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at 12 noon at the library and on our new live discussion option.

Need help finding a Western, visit Kent District Library.
